Balochistan is the largest province by area of Pakistan with approximately 44% of the country's total land mass and home to less than 5% of the country's population. Balochistan is bordered by Afghanistan to the north and northwest, Iran to the southwest, the Arabian Sea to the south, Punjab and Sindh to the east, and KPK/FATA to the northeast. Quetta is the capital and largest city of Balochistan.

Balochistan can be divided in to four distinct zones: Upper high lands, lower high lands, plains, and deserts. The upper highlands, known locally as Khorasan, rise as high as 3,700 m with valley floors about 1,500 meters above sea levels. The highlands include Makran, Kharan, Chaghi, Sulaiman, Pab, and Kirthar ranges. The Lower High Lands have an altitude ranging from 1,970 to 3,940 ft (600 to 1200 m).

Balochistan has relatively small area of plains, including the Kachi Plain, Lasbela and of river Dasht. Mountains dominate the terrain and valley floors, and piedmont plains make up only 15% of the landscape.Balochistan is Heaven
